The China International Choir Festival was organized by the Foreign Relationship Bureau of China Cultural Ministry, China Arts and Entertainment Group, China Performing Arts Agency and China International Cultural Tourism Service Inc. The event was held from July 16 to July 21, 2008 with a theme” Acclaim the 2008 Olympic”. The purpose of the event was to build a harmonious world emphasizing on peace and friendship. About 4,000 people signed up for this festival among whom were over 80 choirs come from various Chinese regions including Taiwan and Hong Kong, and overseas nations such as Singapore, Japan, USA, White Russia and Norway, etc.
